When prosecutor Bráulio Vianna discovered that his wife Helena was hiding from him that her father Moreira is a swindler wanted by the police, he demanded that she make a choice: either the father or the daughters. Helena then travels to Florianópolis to reflect on a decision and meets Lenin, with whom she falls in love. Upon learning that her father was betrayed by her brother-in-law Italo and that his life was in danger, Helena decides to help him and disappears with him.
