Star Wars: Unlimited Homeworlds Lands This Month With a Tarkin Spotlight Deck and a Death Star Leader

Fantasy Flight's 260-card Star Wars: Unlimited set Homeworlds reached stores in early October, with Chewbacca and Tarkin Spotlight Decks, a new Fortify keyword and a Death Star Leader Unit. A smaller Icons set follows November 20.
"Do or do not. There is no try." It is also a decent motto for opening booster packs. Star Wars: Unlimited, Fantasy Flight Games' trading card game, is giving players a new set of odds this month with Homeworlds.
What it is
Homeworlds is a 260-card booster set, as previewed by ICv2 in August, built around "invaders and defenders" of planets across the galaxy. It was due in October 2026, and release trackers and retail posts put it in stores in the first days of the month. Sources disagree on the exact day: TCG Alerts lists October 1, another database lists October 9, and a game store's October 8 post says packs had already arrived. Your local shop is the only reliable answer.
The cards worth knowing
- Two Spotlight Decks, themed around Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin
- A new Fortify keyword
- Two new token types, Beast and Weakness
- A new Tarkin Leader card and a new Death Star Leader Unit
- Featured characters on the Rebel side include Chewbacca, Ezra Bridger and C-3PO. On the Imperial side, Tarkin and Director Krennic
A Death Star as a Leader Unit is about as Star Wars as a card can get, and Tarkin getting his own Leader card and Spotlight Deck puts the Death Star's commander in the spotlight.
What comes next
According to TCG Alerts, a smaller entry-level set, Icons, follows on November 20, 2026. Screen Rant reported in June that Icons was pushed back to November after Homeworlds was moved up, based on a Reddit post, and that lead designer Danny Schaefer implied it would cost less than an average set. Icons is meant to lower the barrier for new players.
Why it matters for the 50th
This sits in the same stretch as the Hasbro and LEGO anniversary announcements: Star Wars is turning its 50th into a year of products at every price point, from a $600 animatronic Grogu to a few dollars of cardboard and foil. Homeworlds is early, but it fits the pattern.
May the Force be with us, and may your boosters be all rares.
